        Corporations Share the Blame

The programs suggested by Fit4Free will, of course, cost money, and who should fund these programs, after all? Raising taxes is not the answer. The tobacco industry, because of their culpability in promoting a substance which has created havoc to our health, now provides funds for medical research.

Therefore, shouldn't the fast food industry- an industry which spends billions of dollars to convince us to eat food that is not good for us- take some responsibility? Should they not help to fund programs that encourage and enable us to lead healthier lives? The video game industry should also be held accountable for their part in our lack of fitness, and therefore do what is necessary to correct the situation. Those industries which benefit from the income derived from these poisonous luxuries should function responsibley and help teach people to live with the new technology in a balanced way, so that it doesn't threaten our health.
